One of the most well completed animes in my opinion. The story started from underground then progress to above ground, into the sky, out to space and ended in galaxy. Raging robotic battles were fought from ground to air to space. There was humor, relationship and solitude. It started of just like any traditional mecha genre. An innocent kid was able to pilot the most powerful weapon that can save mankind. Boring... But that was not all there is, there are more than that. So yeah conitnue watching even if you think you can tell what happens next. However, I think some part is totally nonsensical but over it's forgivable. Also, the character ahd robot designs are not quite my type except for Yoko =P. Lastly, it's a very highly rated anime in myanimelist.net, so yeah it's worth checking out.
