This is nice. I like it.

My rating:

Battle Stations is by far the best Facebook game to date. The only game that I've been playing in Facebook for the longest time.  The concept of the game is simple. In the game, you're a captain of your ship. You started of by picking your class (each class has their own benefits as you progress through the game). Your objective is basically to level up your captain and get resource to build up your ship by buying new ship (stronger or faster ship), buy stronger weapons and ship parts. You can also battle other players' ship. As you reach high level, you might want to get involved into the more fun part of the game and that is joining a clan where you'll be having clan war with another clan and stuff like that. Well, it's a lot more fun than it sounds.

Battle Stations does me a lot of goods and some some bads. First of all, I had fun playing it. I made new friends and meet new people through the game. Through the friends I made in the game, I was able to learn a lot of things and went through a lot things with them. One definite takeaway for me would be that now I can outrightly say that I understand the feeling of those hardcore online gamer. On the down side, the game took away some of time as more as I became more engaged and in the game. Also it took quite a bit of my money. The first online game that I actually spend money on. -_- I hope there won't be anymore after in the future. All in all, it's been fun, playing with all your friend. It gives us sth to talk about, sth in common.

My rating:

12 Rounds is definitely much better than John Cena's previous work, The Marine. This is like a more believable version of Die Hard 4 (the only Die Hard, I watched) if you think about it. Detective Fisher, the main character, did not battle the bad guy alone. He's die hard and yet vulnerable at times which makes him more human I guess. Frankly, I like 12 Rounds type of plot better than Die Hard's. The type of plot where it makes you predict what will happen next and try to recall what has happened to see what you've missed out. Some examples of the movies I loved from this type of plot are Ocean 11, Ocean 13, The Bank Job, The Italian Job, Kiss Kiss Bang etc. I like the twist at the end as well. 12 Rounds is definitely worth watching.

While I was browsing for things to watch the other day, I came across this Discovery Channel program called 1000 Places To See Before You Die. The show is about a newly wedded couple, who got inspired by the book 1000 Places to See Before You Die, put their lives on hold and go on an all paid 5-month odyssey trip around the world to places recommended in the book. I love this show. If you love traveling or a traveler at heart, you'll definitely love the show. So far I've watched only 2 episodes which is to Hawaii and India and going to watch Alaska and Brazil. And YES!! They also went to Cambodia. I'm trying to get that episode. If you have time, check them out.

Anyway, while watching the show, sth that was said in there got me thinking for awhile. During the episode, it mentioned that visiting the place is like realizing your childhood dream. Then I think why most of the time people relate their incredible experience to childhood. For example, I often hear people say "This really fun it's like we're a child once again." or "this brings back our childhood memory" or stuffs along those lines. That implies that childhood is one of the best time in their lives, if not the best. However, we also often see people negatively regard people who are inconsiderate, hot tempered, insensitive, immature etc.. as "childish". I found it ironic and the same time, humorous. It's like they're saying that "I love childhood but I hate being childish or people who're childish." How can you enjoy your childhood if you're not childish?

So the next time somebody says that you're childish, you say "Thank you."

And another week passed by and so the top 18 performance and results are over. Time to comment on what went down. First of all, I didn't like the genre picks this week compared to last week but again I kinda knew this was gonna happen. This week dances were a mixture of awesome ones, so-so ones and bad ones. No surprises.

My top 5 performances are:

  1. Jonathan & Karla's contemporary choreographed by Stacey Tookey

  2. Brandon & Janette's Disco choreographed by Doriana Sanchez

  3. Max & Kayla's pop-jazz choreographed by Brian Friedman

  4. Vitolio & Asuka's waltz choreographed by Louis van Amstel

  5. Ade & Melissa's Jazz choreographed by Sonya Tayeh

After watching the performance last night I really  thought Phillip-Jeanine pair was going to be in bottom 3 with the other 2 hip-hop pairs but thank God, I was wrong about that. I guess US people also want to keep Phillip longer in the competition to see more of his awesome hip-hop popping style. And yes surprisingly, I dismissed both hip-hop routines. I hated the 1st one and dislike the 2nd one. Hahaha I think Shane Sparks must be damn sad both pairs under his choreograph is in bottom 3. But again, you have to agree that it's hard for these choreographers to keep up with the demands sometime.

During the announcement of the bottom 3 pairs, when I saw Phillip-Jeanine pair standing with Jason-Caitlin pair, I knew they were safe. 2nd group of 3 pairs were expected nothing to comment. As for the last group of 3 pairs, when I Evan-Randy pair was announced 'safe', then I knew that Max-Kayla pair was going to be in bottom 3 already. Well anybody who has followed the show would've guessed that easily as well. Finally, when it came down to elimination, Ashley was eliminated as predicted despite the fact that the judges were not unanimous. As for the guys, I was predicting Kupono since Max is with Kayla and I thought they won't be in the bottom 3 for a while. Anyway between this 2 any one eliminated is expected.

Other than that, I have to say that I think among all the top ten girls this season, Karla has the best legs followed by Janette. And Melissa is the most Lady (ah duh! she's 29). :P Lastly, I small comment on Jonathan-Karla routine. I think the song plays big part in the boosting the level of their performance. Now I don't know what will happen next week. Let me note down my guesses here so I can refer to next week.

Next week bottom 3 guess:

Asuka-Vitolio pair, Randi-Evan pair, Jason-Caitlin pair

Elimination guess: Asuka & Vitolio :P

Finally So You Think You Can Dance Season 5 top 20 week is here and over. In summary, this week performance is pure awesome, extraordinary, beautiful and fantastic etc... Now that the first week is over, I can tell if the judges' top 20 choice were up to expectation and also spot my favorites.

Top 5 performance for me are:

  1. Ade and Melissa's contemporary choreographed by Mandy Moore

  2. Phillip and Jeanine's hip-hop choreographed by Tabitha & Napoleon

  3. Evan and Randi's Jazz choreographed by Tyce Diorio

  4. Brandon and Janette's Fox Trot choreographed by Louis van Amstel

  5. Kapuno and Ashley's Jazz choreographed by Wade Robson

And the performance that I keep watching over and over again although not my most favorite is Phillip and Jeanine's hip-hop routine.

From top 20 performance last night, my current male favorites are Phillip, Ade and Evan and female favorites are Jeanine, Melissa, Randi, Ashley and Kayla. Yes the girls this year are awesome, it'll be kinda expected if the winner this year is a girl.

A quick comment from me will be, first of all, you really must watch the show. It's crazily awesome. Phillip and Jeanine have awesome chemistry. Never expected that coming. Also, it was a blessing to audience that Phillip gets to do Hip Hop. How I wish Phillip gets to do Hip Hop every week. I never get sick of watching his moves. I'm very worried that from next week he may not perform so good in other genre. Nevertheless, I shall wait for him for to surprise me. As for Ade and Melissa, I totally never saw them coming. Ade's strength and Melissa's legs movement are incredibly beautiful to watch. They're gonna be an awesome couple in the show. Lastly, I'm quite disappointed that Kayla got Max as her partner. Their chemistry is doubtful for me at the moment. I'm predicting that as the competition progresses, Max may end up dragging Kayla down or Kayla may end up helping Max to stay longer in the competition. I really hope I'm wrong with that. Otherewise cheers!! Can't wait for next week to come.

What comes to your mine when I say "he's gay"? And what about when I say "she's lesbian"?

I was having conversation with my fellow student assistants during lunch the other day about sth else and somehow we ended talking about gay and lesbian. Apparently, I've been using the terms Gay too casually and Lesbian too strictly. According to online dictionary, gay mean homosexual (well beside, the its other normal meaning) and lesbian means female homosexual. Quite straight forward. But for me, the impression of both terms is deviated from their formal definition. My impression of gay is more toward guys behaving like a girl than homosexual. And often use the word "gay" to refer to guy behaving like a girl or more casually referring to a 2 guys doing things together. Hence, I usually don't mean it when I say gay. It's like a figure of speech or cliche that I use among my peers. But apparently, I've been using it so lightly that I tend to forget there are people take the word for what it's defined and get offended by it. Any opinion on that?

On the other hand, I totally mean it when I say lesbian. I won't use lesbian unless I really know that they're lesbian which either mean they declare it or I witness them showing sexual intimacy towards one another. I won't even use lesbian when 2 girls always do things together or go shopping hand in hand. That's why when people tell me "they're lesbian." I will go "really!? how you know?". But when they say "they're gay" I was like "ok. I see." What about you?

Lastly, from where I come from, gay normally refers a guy behaving like girl or surrounded by girls all the time and lesbian is unheard of. When I came overseas, it's quite the opposite. Over here, if you're surrounded by girls all the time, they'd more or less think that you're a player which mean u're a damn straight guy. And if you behave like a girl also doesn't mean you're gay because some gays here behave even more manly than a straight guy.

Morale of the story, I think I should be careful not to throw the term around casually when I'm socializing outside my circle of friends.

My first entry dedicating to featuring Facebook application. I've always wanted to start entries on various FB applications that are popular among my peers but never had the time or the mood to do so. And now finally the mood is here.

If you've been going to arcade, you'd probably are familiar with this arcade called Photo Hunt. The idea of the game is simply to spot the 5 difference in a pair of seeming identical photos. Spot The Difference (STD) is actually an FB app version of Photo Hunt. So if you like photo hunt go and challenge your friend's score in FB instead of wasting your token in arcade. FYI, you only 2 plays per day. If you want to play more than 2 time a day you gotta have to buy more plays.

If you can't have enough of it and don't want to pay either you can get another 2 more plays with Extreme Spot The Difference.

Extreme Spot The Difference (ExSTD), as the name suggests, is a more difficult version of Spot the Difference. I played one time I gave up on it already. Too difficult. Only recommended for more hardcore player. :P

Beside these 2, there are a number of other FB game offered by Lunatic Game as well but I'm not going to highlight since I'm not really into them. You will them all after you've added STD or ExSTD.

Lastly, if you want some practice before getting on with your 2 plays a day click here to play photo hunt @ gamegame.com

First, I'll touch on the 1st unexpectedly unexpected which is the top 20 for the current season of my most favorite reality show, So You Think You Can Dance Season 5. Well, I'm not gonna waste time list their name down here, you can check them out in detail HERE. The top 20 this year is a ridiculous surprise for me. The most unexpected top 20 for me out of the 5 seasons. Almost all the contestants that I've rooted and wanted them to go never got in. For guys, only one of those I wanted to make it to top 20 went in, and that is Phillip Chbeeb. He definitely deserves it. After all the praying I grave for him finally he made it. Now it's time to pray that he'll explode into awesomeness in competition not just in his style but in other style too. As for girls, only Asuka Kondoh made it from my favorite list. Well, I can't complain much about this because my favorites are solely base on their solo during audition. They cut the Vegas week into 2 short episodes, so I don't really get to see any of them dance properly. Most of time was the judges scolding them and sending people home.

This is in a way good too. Like that I won't have much expectation of what to come. So there would be less disappointment. With that said, they'd better bring it because last year was HOT to the max. Season 4 performances will always be my benchmark for the show. Anything short of that, I'll be disappointed. :) Let's hope this unexpected turn out is a damn good one.

Next and last on the agenda will be Naruto's latest chapter, 450.*** !!!![SPOILER ALERT]!!!!**

First, I'd like to give myself a pat on the back for accurately predicting the outcome of the battle between Naruto and Pain :).  *pat *pat Now the unexpected thing is I never thought Danzo became the 6th Hokage just like that. No struggle no nothing... what the hell... I never thought he'd get to be one in the 1st place. I have a feeling that I may not be enjoying what is to come. But I shall have faith in Masashi-san. He has been impressive up to now. I shall wait and see.

This is probably how you want to capture your best moment with your love ones. There is no need to tell her how much you feel for her. Your best shot of your best moment with her says it more than anything. Photographers are defnitely 1 of the best bunch of people on earth to be able to say speaks their hearts out with only their finger. (^^.)

Now, I think think the saying "practice make perfect" holds everywhere. I've been lurking around DeviantArt for quite some time now and I thought I've seen most of the awesome works in there. But when I recently started to spend excessively more time on it looking for stuff  to help me in my design practice, I found many more awesomely exotic work that I've never seen before. So many inspirations out there... need to chiong more.

OMG! :O *gasp* Kadaj comes to life! @_@ Extreme cosplay. 10 thumbs up. She looks almost exactly the 3D Kadaj. This is a very rare compatibility.

Riku? Dunno that was the title of the picture. I think the photo is nice. Check out her cosplay shoots. Most of them are good cosplay.

Yes I mean it literally. He takes nude photos... =3 professionally of course. However, it was not his nude works that impressed me. It was the above photo, one of his few non-nude works (or I think so. I didn't really see all his works). It's extremely attractive. The setting, the lighting, the smile, and the pose, the combination makes this photo a pure and innocent beauty. L♥ve it!

*Stumble stumble* stumbled on another nice Cosplay photographer.
Check out her deviantArt. She has quite a number of very nice Cosplay shoots.

Came across this photo in deviantArt. This is pure awesomeness both the photography skill and the model. She should be doing cosplay. Genius. Somehow I totally love this shot.

And they are.....

Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li

My Rating

Street Fighters: The Legend of Chun-Li practically destroys whatever reputation the previous Street Fighter has had so far. If only I had an image for half-star I'd give it a half-star. This movie definitely stands a high chance of being the worst movie of 2009. Especially for those who have been following Street Fighters comic or the games. Please la.. the earlier Chun-Li where got know how to Hadoken one? zzzZZZ Definitely hopeless. Luckily we watched it in Johor so didn't waste that much $$.

Dragonball Evolution

My Rating

An ultimate disappointment. Never intended to watch this movie at all but for some inevitable reason I ended up watching it. What a total waste of money. Dragonball Evolution is definitely created just to compete with Street Fighter for the title. So may the worst movie win.
